Symbols Dialog

This is the first dialog displayed when the Symbol Wizard Utility is started. Adding, removing and positioning the symbols as well as determining the quote vendor for which symbols will be generated are all performed from this dialog. Changing the quote vendor will clear the list of symbols because of formatting differences between different vendors. For more information about how symbols are formatted for your quote vendor, please check that vendor's documentation.

Adding Symbols

To add to the symbols list, simply display the Add Symbols dialog box by clicking on the Add button. No two symbols may be placed on the list that are exactly the same.

Removing and Positioning Symbols

In order to remove symbols from the list simply select the symbols to be removed and then click on the Remove button. To clear the list of all its symbols, click the Remove All button. To move symbols around on the list, select the symbols to be moved and then press either the Up or Down arrow to move the selected symbols in the direction desired.

Changing Quote Vendors

In order to change which vendor for which symbols are generated, simply select from the choices on the Quote Vendor drop down box. Certain features are not available for some vendors, message boxes will appear when this occurs. The vendor may eventually provide those features, so you may wish to call Montgomery Investment Technology, Inc. to see if those features have been included in a new version of the product or to see if the features will be included at a later date. Changing quote vendors will clear the list of symbols to prevent errors due to differences in symbol formats among quote vendors.
