Defining a Search
Three basic inputs are necessary to define a search of the database they are
defined as follows:
Type determines whether the database of futures contracts or the database of
stocks and options are to be searched.
Criteria determines whether the Search Text is the contract symbol or contract description.
Search Text is the actual text to find in the database.
Executing a Search
Once a search has been defined, the search may be executed by merely pressing
the Search button. The progress of the search is displayed on the status bar of the
Excel window and the results of the search are displayed in the Items Found text box of the dialog. If the Search Text was not found in the database then the search results are displayed as #NOT
FOUND.
Selecting Symbols to Add
To add the results of the search to the list of base symbols on the Add Symbols dialog simply select the items in the list box that you want and then press the Add button. Any symbols that are already on the list will not be added again.
